Hi there! I'm Brigette!

I'm so very grateful that you took a few minutes to check out Brigette Billups Photography!  I hope you'll grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile. :)  I want to share a piece of my heart and tell you a little bit about why I decided to jump, head first, into owning a photography business! 

First, you need to know that I get so much joy and fulfillment from this business!  The Lord has given me a passion and a drive to document once-in-lifetime memories!  I love the art and trade of photography, but, even more so, I love the people that this business brings into my life!

I have ALWAYS loved taking photos! From a young age, I would constantly take random photos with those disposable 35mm cameras.  Then, when I was a freshman in high school, my family went to NYC and I got my very first digital camera so I could take photos during our trip!  I.was.elated!!!!  And then, let's face it, when iPhones came out - complete game changer!

There's something about photos that has always captured my heart.  I credit this to the fact that I have always cherished the photos I have of my own family.  As a little girl, I always loved looking at photos of my parents and grandparents when they were little children.  I'd get tickled that some of my older family members wouldn't smile in their old b&w photos.  I would tease my mom about her many hairstyles as a child and the clothes she used to wear (which are back in style now! ha!).  I loved looking at the pics of my dad as a toe-headed kid (that's what his parents called him bc he was so, so blonde).  I could go on and on about how much my family's photos intrigued me!

Now as mommy, I cherish photos even more!  I have thousands of photos of our little guy and he's only ONE! Photos from his first bite of solid food (avocado for the win!) to photos of him trying to crawl for the first time - I love to capture all these huge milestones!

So here's the thing I've come to realize, photos tell a story.  A HUGE story.  a story about who we are and where we've been.  photos also SPARK stories.  My parents loved to look at a photo and tell me what was going on in the world during that time. 

Let's face it, in 1 month, in 3 years, or in 20 years, you'll never have this moment again.  Our kids will look different from day to day as they grow, our careers will change, we'll move, our life will look different, etc.... I want to help you capture this moment in time, in a beautiful way, so you can have these days to treasure. 

I would love to be a part of your story.  I love meeting people and I become friends with a lot of my clients!  I love when my clients have fun during our photo shoots and I LOVE to deliver their beautifully edited images to them!  The feedback I receive, filled with joy and excitement, often brings tears to my eyes!  I get such a fulfillment from making people feel beautiful! 

Y'all, I love what I get to do!  I am so grateful that the Lord has opened the door of photography for me and that He continues to affirm this business venture of mine.  As long as He continues to lead me and guide me down this path, I will follow and give it my all.
